FAQs – Ultra

When do entries close?
Entries close at 18:00 on Sunday 23rd September 2018.
Where can I find a start list?
We will publish a start list on the event page of our website shortly after entries have closed.
When do I get the race info pack?
The race info pack will be emailed to all competitors soon after entries close, either the Sunday or following Monday.
I can no longer race and need to withdraw, what should I do?
Ok, this is fine but you need to follow the withdrawal policy. You’ll receive race credit; the value will depend on when you withdraw in relation to the event date.
Can I swap between distances?
This is no problem providing the other race has space. Just contact team@monsterracing.net.
When do I need to register?
Registration will be between 06:30 – 07:45. The race brief will be at 07:50. Race start is 08:00.
Where can I find maps?
Check out the run map. You can export the map to your GPS device using the export link in the route info box.
What is the profile of the course?
Click on the above link to the map. Underneath the map you’ll see the profile of the route.
Are there any cut offs?
Yes, to ensure the safety of all athletes we are required to place cut off times for this event. The cut off times are as specified below. Athletes falling outside of the times at each stage will be requested to withdraw from the race for logistical and safety reasons. If you choose to continue your race number will be removed and you do so at your own risk.
Half way – 13:00
Finish – 19:00
Can I have a support runner?
We have decided to allow support runners on the return leg back to Ely. We would suggest that the best way for a support runner to join you is to take the train from Ely to Cambridge (takes 15 minutes) and then it’s about a 2.5 mile-ish walk to the turnaround point. If they were to join you here they would have a 21 mile-ish run back. Or another option would be a train from Ely to Waterbeach (takes 9 minutes) and the train station is about 300 metres from the race route, and that would be about a 16 mile run back. The first train to Waterbeach and Cambridge is at 9am, allowing supporters to see the start. The fare is about £4.
Is it possible for me to run with my dog?
Unfortunately not, this change to due to UKA rules. Sorry!
Do I get a medal?
Yes and a tech t, both are cool!!
Where can I find the results?
You can print out your result at the end of the event, look out for the Jaguar Timing tent. All results will be emailed to you as soon as we have them from the chip timing company and they will be loaded onto our website in due course.
Where are the official event photos?
Ian-Green Photography has been our event photographer in previous years. All photos from previous events are shown on Flickr. A link to the official photos for 2018 will be sent with the results, plus like us on Facebook as we’ll post an update on there once the photos are live.
