Testimonials – Middle

Dionne Allen, 1st Female, 2016:
“Thank you so much to you and your team for hosting such a ‘Montastic’ event, I was really impressed with the organisation and the course it certainly was top notch! The Volunteers, support and fun filled atmosphere were awesome and really made you race with a smile. An event I will truly recommend and hope to come back for more action next year!”
Karl Free, 3rd Male, 2016:
“Thank you Monster Racing for putting on another well organised Monster Middle weekend. Small improvements every year enhance the race reputation. ‎Keeping the race entries lower gives the event a friendly special feeling you don’t have at other major middle distances races. Competitors keep returning each year. The organisation is efficient and race helpers do their job with a smile offering support throughout. The river swim remains iconic for racers and great viewing for spectators. The bike is flat but anything but easy with the fenland wind and some tricky road surfaces however you won’t see many vehicles only the rural wildlife of Cambridgeshire. The run is stunning showing off the best of Ely on closed roads which offers plenty of crowd support during the lapped course. Supporters enjoy the whole day at this event as well. Thanks for your good work Liz and Paul at Team Monster”
Lucy Gossage, 1st Female, 2015:
“Monster’s events seem to get better and better each year. I love this race – the swim down the river is stunning and the support on the challenging lapped run around the cathedral makes the event. One of the most fun races I do each year!”
Yvette Grice, 3rd Female, 2015:
“If you are looking for a well organised and supported Middle Distance event then look no further than Monster Middle Triathlon. This is a well organised event with a fantastic river swim, flat & fast bike course and atmospheric run around Ely Cathedral. I would definitely recommend for a friendly & enjoyable race.”
Joe Skipper, 1st Male, 2012:
“I think the Monster middle is a great race with the swim being a point to point swim being led by boat down the river. The bike is flat and very fast also. The entire course is built for those searching for a fast time or a tune up race in the build-up for Challenge Henley and Ironman Wales as it falls 4 weeks before these races. It’s a good chance to test nutrition strategies and also provides a good tune up. It was well organized, I camped on sight which was literally a stone’s throw from the station. Definitely one to put in your diaries and just because it’s flat and fast don’t assume it’s easy it just means you have to pedal the WHOLE time!”
