Dan Elliot, 2nd Male, 2017:
“Well what can I say, the best organised race I have ever taken part in. Registration and transition set up before getting into the mild river and starting one of the best swims I have ever completed, very fast, completely straight and only 1 buoy to negotiate. The bike course is flat and fast and the run course is very similar with a few stings in the tail for good measure. The highlights have to be firstly the support you get around the Run course that motivates you to keep going as well as the amazing chance to run through the cathedral grounds giving you that extra spur in motivation. Would recommend this event to anyone and won’t be my last monster ever. Thank you for a day to remember.”
Kimberley Morrison, 1st Female, 2017:
“A fantastic race in the beautiful Cathedral City of Ely, the atmosphere, spirit and energy is infectious. I came to race with a smile and enjoy every moment and that was so so easy to do, thank you Monster.”
Max Wolke, 2nd Male, 2016:
“A well organised, friendly and community oriented triathlon with great participation from local clubs. The course is second to none, a very scenic river swim, fast and flat bike course and a challenging run with a few kicks to test the legs. I used this race as prep for the World Champs in Cozumel and really appreciated the relaxed vibe. I will definitely be back next year for more.”
Juliet Vickery, 2nd Female, 2016:
“A friendly, well organised race with great local support with lots of added interest starting with swim flanked by moored barges along the river Ouse and ending with a run route past Ely Cathedral”
Matthew McClure, 2nd Male, 2015:
“Another fantastic event, I’ve raced three of Monster’s triathlons this year and all have been very well organised and ran by very friendly people & helpful marshals, they make our club very welcome. The event is a great course with a swim in the river onto a flat bike course in the fens which can be windy but it’s home training ground for me, finally the run which is an undulating course around the scenic town of Ely. I shall definitely be competing again next year at the Monster events.”
Emma Deary, 1st Female, 2015:
“A fabulous event! Great organisation and the support from the volunteers and spectators was so motivating. It’s my first Monster Racing event and certainly won’t be my last. Thank you for a race to remember.”

“Really enjoyed my race at the Monster Olympic – a great setting with picturesque surroundings. Lovely smooth river swim, fast bike leg on quiet roads and a varied town centre run.”
